Pusan Hosts NY Investment Forum

Updated 11:18 a.m. ET, Tue May 31, 2005

The Pusan Port Authority will conduct an investment forum on June 14 to promote the construction of a new port in the South Korean port city.

Pusan, located at the southeastern tip of Korea, is the nation's largest port and the third largest transshipment container facility in the world. The new port is scheduled to open in 2011.

The creation of the Pusan-Jinh ae Free Economic Zone in March 2004 -- a 25,000 acre complex that includes Pusan New Port, the Pusan Science and Industrial Park and a range of other facilities --offers foreign corporations and investors a range of tax and other incentives, further accentuating Pusan's attractiveness as a business and investment destination.

This meeting will be held from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel. Admission is free to investors and executives in the transportation and logistics sectors. Advance registration is encouraged and advised.

Supporting organizations and publications for this event include the Korea Society, The Manhattan Chamber of Commerce, Asia Times, Business Facilities, The Journal of Commerce, and The KWR International Advisor.
